  • Price Change April 2021

We’re changing our prices

Price increases are never welcome, it’s important that we explain why our prices will be going up from 1 April.

While we have done everything we can to keep prices as low as possible, wholesale costs – what we pay for the energy we supply to your home – have risen by around 20% since our last price review. Environmental policy costs and the price we pay to network companies to use their supply infrastructure have also climbed.

Wholesale costs have gone up by about 20% since our last price change in October.

These are national average wholesale costs, taken from Ofgem’s price cap model and based on current Ofgem medium TDCVs of 2900kWh/year for standard unrestricted electricity customers and 12000 for gas customers.

As a result, and in order to maintain the service that you rely on and to continue to stay on the cutting edge of our industry, we have to pass on some of this cost to our customers.

It is a decision we have not taken lightly. We’ve made the smallest changes we can and Utilita remains below the level of Ofgem’s energy price caps – ensuring that you pay a fair price for your energy.

We appreciate household finances have been affected by COVID-19, so we’d like to reassure you that we’re here to help you if you’re having difficulty paying your bill. We will always do our best to be flexible and make you aware of your options.

Thank you for your understanding.
