  • What is the Power Price List?

    It’s a first-of-its-kind collection of data regarding the energy consumption of common household appliances. It shows how much each item costs to run per minute, per average use, per cycle, and when in standby mode.

  • How is the information collected?

    Our expert analysts collate data from sellers and manufacturers websites as well as from our customers research and surveys. They also use values produced via the energy price cap. We use this data and update the Power Price List so it’s easy to understand.

  • How does the Power Price List help me?

    By being able to view the average usage costs of common household appliances, you can compare the findings against similar items in your home. With an understanding of typical costs, you can determine whether your appliances are running the way they should be and whether or not it’s worth replacing the item.

    Not only that, but knowing where to reduce your energy will help lower your carbon footprint – nice!

  • How often is the Power Price List updated?

    We’ll update our data every 4 months (in-line with the Energy Price Cap figures provided by Ofgem) to ensure the costs we provide is as accurate as possible.

  • What if I can’t find my appliance?

    If your appliance isn’t on the Power Price List, don’t worry! You can compare to similar items for an accurate estimate.

  • My appliance costs more. Is it time to replace it?

    Not so fast! Always consider servicing an item or replacing broken parts before replacing the entire item. Unnecessarily throwing away electrical items into landfill via the bin at home has a devastating environmental impact.

  • How can I make my appliance use less energy?

    Many appliances have settings, such as cycles on a washing machine or settings on a TV. Look for eco-modes to reduce energy while using the appliance. Remember, the cheapest energy is the energy you DON’T use! For more quick and easy energy saving tips, check out Energy High 5.
