Younger Brits 'keen on smart PAYG energy meters'

Almost half of consumers in Britain would like to use a smart pay-as-you-go (PAYG) meter for their gas and electricity, according to a new survey.

It claims younger people and those living in the North of the country would drive this revolution, with three out of five 18-34 year olds interested in using smart PAYG technology and 68% would use a smart phone app.

People in the North East (57%), Yorkshire/Humbershire (51%) and the North West (50%) are the most interested in the technology, the research found.
