You’ll get £30 free energy credit and they’ll get a £30 Amazon Voucher. It’s that simple.
To refer a friend you must be a customer with us, be live on supply, and have an electricity smart meter installed in your home. Providing you meet this criteria, you can refer your friends whenever you like by completing our online refer a friend form to generate a link which can be shared with one or all of your friends.
There’s no limit to how many friends you can refer! The more friends you refer, the more you’ll be rewarded!
In order to refer a friend successfully, you first need to check they are happy and willing to switch energy supplier to us. Providing there are no issues with your friend's current meter type, energy provider and/or postcode region, there is no reason why your friend will not be eligible. We will always provide a full quote and price comparison to every customer who signs up with us, and if there are any problems with our ability to switch the energy supply, we will write to both you and your friend to let you know.
Please note: The electricity credit and Amazon gift is not guaranteed – if your referred friend’s supply does not go live due to an issue regarding their previous supplier, contract or meter type, the benefits of our Refer a Friend scheme will not go through.
Once your friend's supply goes 'live' with us, you will both receive your £30 gift. When you refer friends via our online refer a friend form, you will be asked to enter your 19 digit top-up card number – this allows us to apply a flag to your account to ensure you receive £30 of free energy every time your referrals go live on supply.
Your smart meter will automatically be credited with £30 of electricity and your friend will receive their £30 Amazon voucher via email, post or SMS.
To refer your friends you must be a Utilita customer and have an electricity smart meter installed in your home. It’s quick and easy and we’ll do the hard work for you.
If a customer of ours would like to recommend our service to others and introduce new customers to our service, we are happy to accept such referrals and are delighted to be able to reward both our existing and new customers, as set out in these Scheme Rules (the Rules).
The customer making a referral is the Referrer. The new customer, who has been introduced by the Referrer, is the Referred Customer.
The referred customer must switch using the link emailed to them (or generated on facebook/twitter) in order to be eligible.
For each referral, the Referrer will receive £30 of credit (the Referral Credit) and the Referred Customer will receive a £30 Amazon voucher (the Rewards) on the conditions set out in the Rules.
The Referrer must be a customer of 'Utilita Energy Limited', with smart meters installed when the referral is made.
Both the Referrer and the Referred Customer must be live on supply with Utilita Energy Ltd in order for the rewards to be issued. The rewards will be issued to both the Referrer and the Referred Customer once the Referred Customers’ supply has been live with Utilita Energy.
The Amazon vouchers issued to Referred Customers will be single-use vouchers and no change will be issued if the voucher is only part used. The vouchers may only be used for goods or services purchased via amazon.co.uk and no cash equivalent or alternative will be offered. Only one Amazon voucher will be allowed per household. Lost or damaged vouchers will only be replaced if we are unable to confirm that the original voucher was not used.
The £30 credit to the Referrer will be credited to their electricity account – no cash equivalent will be provided.
If the Referrer is a Pay As You Go customer, the credit will be added to their smart meter. Where the Referrer is a credit customer, the credit will be put on their account and applied to the next bill(s). This may mean that while the account is in excess credit due to Referral Credits, any regular Direct Debit amount may be reduced. Once any Referral Credits have been used, the Direct Debit may need to be reviewed and adjusted again. If there is a debt on the account, any Referral Credits would automatically be used to reduce the debt first, and then any credit balance would be applied to current consumption.
If the Referred Customer leaves after voucher issue, the voucher will remain valid until the end date on the voucher.
If the Referrer leaves 'Utilita Energy Limited', and a credit balance remains on the account due to Referral Credits, any unused Referral Credits will be refunded to the Referrer by bank transfer. In exceptional cases a PayPoint voucher may be issued. If the Referrer leaves 'Utilita Energy Limited' prior to payment of a Referral Credit, the outstanding Referral Credit will only be paid where the delay has been due to a Referred Customer’s live date being delayed beyond industry timescales.
This scheme is open from 20th September 2016 to 1st September 2021. We may, at our discretion, run other schemes or promotions which overlap with this scheme. Unless specifically stated, the Rewards available under this scheme may not be used in conjunction with any other schemes or promotions from 'Utilita Energy Limited'.
