A smart meter measures the amount of gas and electricity you consume. This information is then sent to your Smart Display which will automatically (and securely) send regular meter readings to your supplier through a wireless network.

According to Public Health England (PHE), Smart Meters are one of the safest pieces of technology in the home. This is due to the exposure to low-frequency emissions produced from smart meters is lower than that caused by other appliances such as microwaves and TVs. Smart Meters are covered by EU and UK safety legislation.
You will need to sign up with us first which is where we will usually book a convenient smart meter install date with you. If this is not possible we will attempt to contact you soon after to arrange a suitable date. You will then receive email confirmation upon booking, and we will also send you regular reminders of the date for your smart meter installation. Our top priority is to provide all the benefits of smart energy for every customer and continue to promote the installation of smart meter to our customers. Other than a further 310 non-domestic gas meters, we don't have any official targets this year as we are so far ahead of the smart rollout.
