The old year ended with a bang as Utilita reached 600,000 domestic customers.
Back in April, we announced we’d hit the half a million landmark. To get to 600,000 – as quickly as we have done – has been no mean feat.
A combination of the Government’s introduction of a Pay As You Go Price Cap, as well as increasingly tough competition, meant it was going to be harder than ever for us to continue our booming growth.
But on Christmas Day we officially broke the 600,000 customer mark – and entered the New Year on 604,000.
Utilita Energy was the fastest growing independent supplier for much of 2017* and we cemented our place in the Top 10 suppliers.
Utilita’s Director of Retail, Steve Parker, said “We now have more agents selling our product and with the genuine benefits and selling points of Smart Meters, coupled with the added benefits of being with Utilita - our football and Utilita LIVE partnerships, for instance - we have been able to attract another 100,000 customers in a relatively short period of time.
“We have introduced a fantastic new commission structure for our sales team, which has been ensuring we employ the best agents to market our product and we have a few more surprises up our sleeve for 2018, so we are confident that we will be able to carry on this success in the New Year.”
